Monday Motivation – Protect Your Energy

Posted on September 23, 2024 By PassionateAboutTeaching 8 Comments on Monday Motivation – Protect Your Energy

Protect Your Energy!

As a teacher, I wish I would have learned this MUCH earlier. Instead, I worked, worked, and worked even more to stay caught up in the never-ending amount of work we get in the teaching field. As a result, I didn’t protect my energy. I had NONE left for those around me that deserved and needed my energy.

Remember, the work WILL still be there – go home and spend the time with your loved ones, your animals, time resting, and time decompressing. Your body, mind, spirit (and loved ones) will thank you!

Have a marvelous Monday!

Happy Friday! Enjoy Your Weekend!

Posted on February 10, 2023February 9, 2023 By PassionateAboutTeaching 2 Comments on Happy Friday! Enjoy Your Weekend!
Weekend Ready

Happy Friday! It’s the weekend, and that means it’s time to relax and unwind. But sometimes, it can be hard to find the motivation to do something productive. Here are a few tips to help you get motivated and make the most of your weekend.

First, start by setting goals. Decide what you want to accomplish and make a plan. Break down the tasks into smaller, manageable chunks and schedule them into your weekend. This will give you a sense of purpose and direction.

Second, set aside some time for self-care. It’s important to take care of yourself, both mentally and physically. Take a long bath, go get a cup of tea or coffee (☕️)read a book, go for a walk, or just spend some time doing something that relaxes you.

Third, find activities that make you happy. Whether it’s playing your favorite sport, crafting something, DIY project, cooking, or just watching your favorite movie (yes, I love me some Netflix), make sure to do something that brings you joy. 🥰

Finally, don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s okay if you don’t accomplish everything you set out to do. Just do your best, and don’t forget to have some fun!

I hope these tips help you find the motivation you need to make the most of your weekend. Have a great one!

Until next time,

Stay the Course!

Posted on January 24, 2023 By PassionateAboutTeaching 1 Comment on Stay the Course!

For those of you that read along, you know I completely tore my ACL on October 27. I’m ten weeks post-knee surgery and slowly getting back to some normalcy. It has truly been a LONG and ARDUOUS journey. Yikes! There’s been a lot of ups and downs, to say the least.

I go to PT (physical therapy) two times a week – it’s draining, painful, and tough work. I’m getting there, however. My most important goal, for now, is bending my knee – 135 degrees is my ultimate goal. Over time, I’ve moved from a bend of 55 degrees (my first PT appointment) to a 121-degree bend (yesterday). Therefore, I’m headed in the right direction.

I just wanted to send a little reminder to everyone that if you’re going through a hard time, hang in there. Stay the course. Lean on others and support yourself with positive people that will encourage and motivate you. We’ve got this!

This past week, I hit another mini-goal. I was able to go ALL the way around while pedaling the bike at therapy. Prior to that, I could only go halfway around. Another mini-milestone – yea!

Happy Tuesday!

Until next time,

Wednesday’s Wise Words

Posted on October 19, 2022 By PassionateAboutTeaching No Comments on Wednesday’s Wise Words

Today’s wise words come from a teacher (#chalkfulloflife) who realizes what is most important- family and loved ones. This one hit me hard!! There are many years in my almost 30-year education career, that teaching took precedence over my loved ones, my health, and my entire life.

Whether you are just starting in education or you are “seasoned” (yes, old) like me 😂, take heed to her words. They are important and life-changing!

Remember to take care of you as well (and, no, that isn’t being selfish, and you don’t have to feel guilty for it).

Until next time,
